QuickTip was built for one simple reason: tipping math should never slow down a great meal. We created a fast, clean calculator that respects local tax rates and makes totals easy to understand. How the calculator works
The calculator separates pre‑tax and after‑tax totals. If you enter a pre‑tax amount, we apply tax and tips directly. If you enter an after‑tax total, we reverse the tax to estimate the pre‑tax amount first. This keeps the tip based on the pre‑tax value, which is the most common tipping method in the U.S.
